Shilu Zheng 郑诗璐, Associate Professor (she/her)

Shilu is an Associate Professor in the College of Environment and Ecology of Xiamen University. She was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Fudan University, completed her PhD at the University of Western Australia, and earned her undergraduate degree at Zhejiang University. Feixue Yu 于飞雪, PhD Student (she/her)

Feixue joined the lab as a PhD student in Fall 2025. Her current research focus is on the impact of global climate change and habitat loss on intraspecific trait variation of species. She is interested in collecting Pop Mart dolls and listening to music. Email: yufeixue2022@163.com

Jie Xie 谢杰, PhD Student (he/his)

Jie joined the research group in 2026 as a PhD student in ecology. His research focuses on avian ecology and conservation biology, with a particular interest in intraspecific variation in avian functional traits under global change. He is also broadly interested in biodiversity conservation. He enjoys birdwatching and fieldwork, especially observing birds and collecting data in the wild. During his doctoral studies, he hopes to produce ecological research that is both rigorous and meaningful. Outside of research, he enjoys playing basketball. Contact: xiejie10256@163.com

Xuemin Gan 甘学敏, Master Student (she/her)

Xuemin is a Master's student commencing her studies in 2025. She earned her bachelor's degree in Botany from Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University. Her current research focuses on the relationship between bird plumage color and species threat status. Tingyu Bai 白婷玉, Master's Student (she/her)

Tingyu joined the group as a master's student in 2026. Her current research focuses on vertebrate biodiversity surveys in mangrove ecosystems. Yichen Guo 郭一辰, Research Assistant (he/his)

Yichen joined the lab as a research assistant in Fall 2026. His current research focuses on the factors that influence how effectively acoustic indices predict terrestrial biodiversity, as well as conservation gaps in avian phylogenetic diversity within Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs) under human pressure.
