Two weeks with bird specimens in Hangzhou
In summer 2026, our lab spent two weeks measuring bird specimens at the Zhejiang Museum of Natural History, and celebrated two birthdays along the way.
In summer 2026, our lab travelled to Hangzhou for two weeks of specimen measurements at the Zhejiang Museum of Natural History.
For many of us, this was the first opportunity to work closely with bird specimens. Everyone was excited to explore the museum collections and learn how to carefully examine and measure each specimen. Over two intensive weeks, we gained valuable experience in avian morphology, museum-based research, and teamwork.
The trip also included two special occasions: we celebrated the birthdays of Feixue and Ruixiang during our stay in Hangzhou, adding cake and laughter to our busy measurement schedule.
